For several months, Jentry Dunlap, a cop's widow and mother of a rambunctious 4-year-old little boy has been involved in an online Christian grief support group.
The group requires complete anonymity between the participants, permitting only the use of tags. Jentry, who is known as Raindrop, is paired to a member known only as Umbrella.
Just when she is ready to end her grieving and move on with life, danger knocks down her door. Over a million dollars is missing from her late husband's last bust...the very occasion that cost him his life. Despite her terror and for her son's sake, Jentry is determined to clear his name. Her resolve, however, brings her face to face with treachery, betrayal and murder from sources that never fail in lethal undertakings.
Jentry becomes a target for chiefs in a Colombian drug cartel, intent on recovering their money. Special Agent Graham Jackson is called upon to convince her to work with the FBI in smoking out members of the deadly group. Reasoning that the association will protect her, as well as clear her late husband's name, Jentry agrees to become bait.
As soon as Graham realizes that Jentry is the online buddy he is secretly attracted to, he hesitates to take the case. His supervisor, however, convinces him to follow through with the stipulation that he can not tell Jentry that he is also Umbrella.
While navigating through a web of risk and murder, love blossoms between Jentry and Graham. He worries that neither of them will survive their powerful opponents. And if by some miraculous consequence they do, will she still love him once she learns that he also has deceived her.
